A New Kind of Staff Meeting

Each Wednesday morning, it is our custom to meet with staff to review our clients’ care. It is during this time that we discuss our clients’ needs and issues and how we are optimally addressing them. Each person on our team contributes her suggestions to each case as we identify roadblocks to success and discover unique approaches to address our clients’ needs.

It was time, though, to discuss the State of Our Business and review our mission moving forward.  This meeting was to occur as a staff appreciation event. We recognize our staff’s dedication and devotion and wish to acknowledge them by having some “fun” as a Complete Care Strategies family!

Change of View

On June 6, 2012, eight members of Complete Care Strategies by Elder Connections’ administrative staff discovered the legendary collection of the Barnes Foundation, one of the world’s finest holdings of impressionist, post-impressionist and early modern paintings, African sculpture, metalwork, and more. Situated between the Rodin Museum and the Free Library of Philadelphia, the contemporary limestone structure – part museum, part educational center – displays Albert C. Barnes’s 181 Renoirs, 69 Cezannes, 59 Matisses and other masterpieces.

Changing Our Minds

After touring the Barnes Foundation, our group went to The Rose Tattoo Restaurant for a working lunch. The food was delicious, the ambience was warm, and the discussion was stimulating. It provided each of us with a new context of thinking about our business and the opportunity that it affords us in our service to our clients and our world.

Inspired by the book Firms of Endearment, Beverly Bernstein Joie and Dolores Magid led the discussion about companies with stakeholder relationship management perspectives. We want staff to understand that we are all interconnected and can benefit from each other. These companies are regarded as those which people love doing business with, love partnering with, love working for, and love investing in. We all agreed to strive to become one of these companies. Emotionally intelligent leadership is the foundation of Firms of Endearment; companies that generate every form of value that matters. They care for their employees, clients, families, and anyone with whom they interface.

Changing Our Vision

Organizational energy was created and released because all of us there became emotionally and intellectually excited by Complete Care Strategies’ vision and values. Dolores and Beverly mobilized this energy and focused it on achieving meaningful goals. The positive energy could be felt at the restaurant. We all felt we were ready to do our best work and to serve our clients well, proving that a leader’s positive emotions lead directly to elevating employees’ emotional state and inspiring more enthusiastic performance.

Changing Our World

We are committed to offering home care with a difference and care management with concierge services. Our aim is to provide the best quality of life, defined by the client and his or her family. It is with renewed passion that we focus upon the evolution of our company as one that provides unparalleled breadth and quality assurance in all areas of our “high touch” service. With a profound appreciation of our clients, their families, our staff, and our company, we are committed to bringing joy, love, authenticity, empathy, and soulfulness into our business and delivering emotional, experiential and social value. The day was about building a company that will leave the world a better place.
