One of the most challenging things for seniors is transportation. Especially when driving is no longer an option, the inability to get around can be devastating. My mother told me that when she saw her 20 year old yellow Oldsmobile being towed away, she sobbed knowing that her life would never be the same. Transportation means independence. We all remember the moment that we got our driver’s license. It meant a whole new world of independence and freedom. Being unable to drive brings with it a tremendous loss of one’s identity and a shift into another station of life.

Today, there is a new option that is having far reaching results for the senior population. I doubt that the creation of Uber was designed for this purpose, but none the less, it is impacting the life of many seniors.
